Part 1: Formula 1 action on Netflix
I'm not much of a motorsports kind of guy. What I am, though, is a documentary film kind of guy. And there's something about sports documentaries that gets me every time. Maybe it's the inherent drama, the clear goals, the blood, sweat, and tears -- whatever it is, I always get pulled in by shows like All or Nothing (all the seasons), Cheer, Last Chance U, UFC's Embedded series, and even the backstories of the contestants on American Ninja Warrior.
So when Formula 1: Drive to Survive came out on Netflix last year, I thought I'd give it a shot. Other than recognizing some of the tracks from racing video games, I knew nothing about Formula 1. That didn't matter a bit. Predictably, the show had me hooked!

Here's a trailer for Season 1:
I binged watched it over a couple of weekends.
And now season 2 is out!
I finished it in a couple of days.
If you're missing sports because of the pandemic or if you're tired of watching The Office (wait, can one ever be tired of watching The Office?), Formula 1: Drive to Survive might be worth a watch.
Please note: this show contains some non-teacher-approved vocabulary words in a variety of European accents.
