It's the anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s first MLB game
On April 15, 1947, Jackie Robinson made his Major League debut.
In honor of this anniversary take a look at Here is some footage from Jackie Robinson's groundbreaking first game in the Majors from Major League Baseball's Cut 4 website.
Jackie Robinson's pro baseball career is widely celebrated, but that was only one part of his story. Not as commonly known, for example, are his athletic accomplishments at UCLA (read this article and watch film clips from NCAA) and his arrest in 1944 for refusing to give up his seat on a bus (check out this brief article from Zinn Education Project). His life and legacy reach far beyond the realm of baseball and sports.
