Legends of the Old West, Season 7: Jesse James

Season 7 of Legends of the Old West, by Black Barrel Media, is all about Jesse James and I've got just one episode left!

What I like about Legends of the Old West, and its sister podcast Infamous America, is the narrative approach. The podcasts are fact- and research-based with a single narrator and music and sound effects, making them the podcast equivalent of creative nonfiction. It's a podcast format that is less common than the typical journalistic approach (which I like just fine) or the talkshow format (which I do not like at all – I want content, dagnabbit!).

Past seasons of Legends of the Old West cover classics like Tombstone, Deadwood, and the Texas Rangers. Season 8 just started last week and is all about the Hatfields and McCoys. I'm most looking forward to listening to Season 4, "Red Cloud's War."

I've listened to two seasons of Infamous America so far, one about the Chicago Black Sox scandal and another about Billy the Kid. A new season about John Wilkes Booth also started last week.

Both shows are entertaining and informative.

Now I need to finish listening about what happened to Jesse James!
